Do you have German Ancestors? I notice that there is a discussion on German Ancestors to Australia on the Germany and German Ancestry Group.

Hi Everyone,
I am researching my various ancestors who came to Australia between the 1830s and 1850s. The names I am researching are:

Jarretts and Barnes of Brede Sussex (assisted settlers to Shoalhaven region some later moving to the Northern Rivers region in Northern NSW)

Knights of Arundel Sussex, arrived on Neptune 1844, settled in the Shoalhaven region. Became the first Post Master of Ulladulla.

Crawfords of Ballymore Ireland, arrived on Nabob 1855, settled in Nowra region.

Jeffreys of Penzance Cornwall, arrived on the General Hewitt 1848, settled Bodalla / Moruya NSW.

Jaunceys of Herefordshire, James arrived on Lady Harewood 1832 and his son John arrived on Asia 1833, both convicts to Australia. John settled Bega region.

Carew of Tipperary Ireland, arrival date unknown pre 1842, settled Goldburn NSW (may have been a female convict).

Farrells of Moyvalley Kildare Ireland, arrived on the Susan 1839, settled in East Maitland the Hunter Valley.

LLoyds of St Munster, Claire Ireland, arrived on the Kate 1851, settled in Hinton NSW.

Richards of St Buryan Cornwall, arrival date unknown but pre 1887, settled Glenn Innes NSW.

Pietsch of Schlesien Germany, arrived on Leontine 1848, settled Muckleford Vic (via Gawler SA).

Hell (Hall or Hull) of Howstorf Germany arrived on the Victoria 1848, settled with Pietsch.

Looking forward to chatting with anyone researching the same families.

It's been very quiet on the list lately so I thought that I'd say hello. Please use the list to pass on news of events or new resources and use the discussions to connect with other researchers.
If you haven't introduced yourself yet please do so.
