I am researching my ggggrandparents, Terence Quinn and Mary Byrne from Borris Townland, RC parish of Borris, civil parish of Clonygoose (or Clonagoose). I believe he was a farmer. Mary died before 1846, and I believe that Terence died before 1855.
Terence and Mary had sons baptized in Borris Church in 1810 (Peter) and 1813 (Michael), and there were at least three other children. Five of the sons emigrated to Canada beginning c1825 and settled in St. Anicet Parish, Quebec. It is probable that all five of the emigree sons married in Canada, but two of them married girls (sisters?) by the name of Kavanagh which is also a common name in the Borris, Carlow area.
Any information would be appreciate, and I would love to hear from anyone also researching these families or in this area.
