The names are Still,Booth,DeLong,Yoakum,Wishon,Mullins,Downey,Hamilton,
Sanders,Hawkinsand Reeves to name a few.

My fathers people came to Ray Co., MO from Claiborne Co., TN in the 1870s and settled in Caldwell Co., MO. The names are Hopper, Mayes, Gastineau.
My mother's people came to Lawrence Co., MO from Adair Co., KY and from North Carolina. They were also in Barry Co. and McDonald Co. The names were Sparks and Pendergraft.

I am currently researching the Alford/Alfred Ledford family that settled first in Jackson County and then in Lafayette County around 1860.

I am researching the ADAMSON families in Texas and Phelps counties. Allen and Elizabeth Sanders Adamson had 12 known children, when Elizabeth died in about 1858 and the children were split up among relatives. I am trying to find more information on the following 2 articles:

from The Houston Herald, Texas County, MO, July 11, 2002, page 8:

from Mildred Melton's Scrapbook for the year 1879:
"August 8, 1879
Prosecuting Attorney Geiger, Dr. BF Morgan, Jackson Davis, CM Hill and Beauregard Ross went to the Hamilton neighborhood up the river to disinter the body of a young man named Adamson who committed suicide on account of troubles with his wife. Foul play is now suspected."

1880 Mortality Schedule of Texas County MO:
Edward Adamson 25 b. MO laborer d. August 1879 of suicide shot in Cass Township;

from December 18, 1880 The Rolla New Era newspaper, p.3:

"There was a serious accident at the Smith bank, on Friday, Dec.10, resulting in the death of Isaac Adamson. (This is the same gentleman I wrote about a year ago that got his leg broken in the Clinton iron bank.) It seems that the men were at work making a tunnel under a large bank of flint, and Mr. Adamson and Wm. Tripp, digging out the ore and Mr. Adamson shoveling it back, when the embankment gave way, over their heads and came down with a mighty crash, crushing Mr. Adamson down and covering him up to the depth of four feet. Mr. Trip escaped unharmed. Mr. Adamson was crushed and mangled up horrible. He leaves a wife and a large family of little children to mourn his loss. Some one proposed to have an inquest held over Mr. Adamson, but ye correspondent understand the boss, (Mr. Campbell) would not submit to it. I think such a case of that kind should be attended too. I think the company wants to keep out of paying anything, but charity says they must pay his widow what her husband was worth to her; for when a company will put men in such a dangerous place to work and when one of them gets killed they ought to be made to take care of the widow and orphans. Mrs. Adamson has nothing; she is a sickly woman, and has a host of little children to take care of. The good people in the surrounding country will probably lend a helping hand."

I have been unable to learn what became of these families.

Edward Adamson married Martha Eldrige in 1875 in Texas County; I have been unable to learn what became of Martha.

Isaac Adamson married Elizabeth Hamby in 1868 in Texas County; when he died, he left 3 children that I know of: Melissa, Elizabeth and Mary Adamson. I have not been able to find his wife or children after his death.

Would love to have any help/suggestions, etc.

My grandfather, John Crittenden Land, my grandmother, Tennessee Brock Land and my great grandparents, Hester and Lucinda Baker Land, came to Green Couonty in 1880 from Tennessee. My father was born in Ash Grove in 1900. Some of the family passed through Mo and we nt on tto Texas. One group went to Colorado. We have the Y DNA on the FT DNA project. Lucinda Baker Land was part of the Pamunkey Baker line descended from Dorthy Davenport and Thomas Baker.

I am also innterested in the Burnett family, May Gardner Burnett especially, his line up and down. He is my daughter's great grandfather. I have quite a bit on this line, but it ends with his sons. There was only one grandson who survived to have children and his were all girls. His grandchildren all have Burnett in their names, but it is not their surname.
Angus, Arlie Sarah and Robert were his children. Robert is the only one who could still be alive. Arlie Jr is 84 this month.

Maternal - Kenow (Zanow), Clayburg, Jellison

Paternal - Tegtmeyer, Jarboe, Lahman, Chipley, Sutter, Vollmer, Streckfous
I established my Sutter Family as part of First Families of St. Louis- Immigrant Family, a lineage society through the St. Louis Genealogical Society.

I have hit "road blocks" with Vollmer (b. Dec 1826, Bavaria, d. 31 Oct. 1891 St. Louis) & Streckfous (d. bef 1856 - in 1850 Census/St. Louis) both in St. Louis
