James Martin Campbell
I am looking for the parents of James Martin Campbell b.7 Oct1818 in Venango, Pa. This could be the co. or town in Crawford Co. He married Margaret Sortore in1844 in Pa. She was b. to Zebulon and Nancy Hoglan Sortore in 1819 in NY. In 1850, both families were in Lee Co. Iowa. The Campbells were in Sullivan Co. Missouri in 1860. Thier children are: Sarah Ann,b.1845 in Crawford Co,Pa,Margaret 1848-1848,Mary Jane 1850,Florinda 1853- all b. in Lee Co. Iowa,Nancy1855,Elisa 1858 and my gggrandfather Ulysses Wm.1861- all b. in Sullivan Co.Mo. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you Margaret and Gene, for your help. I got James' birth info from a cousin. My aunt was researching the family in the 60's.

Ulysses m. Ursula Martin, widow of Oliver Woy. I have death cert. for Margaret Jane,Demaris and Ulyssess- all buried in Hawkeye Cemetery. Also, Sarah Ann-Buried in Green City Cemetery and Rex -buried in Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City,Mo. I have not been able to find a connection with the Springers. I haven't found an obit or will for Ulysses yet.I requested the will of James Martin, but nothing was found in the Mo. archives. -
