My most wanted ancestor is my Great Great Grandmother, Philadelphia ELLIS BROWN. Born in 1852 in England, to Peter ELLIS and Jane ROWE; married in 1878 to James BROWN; at one point while married, lived at 2 Newman Terrace, Loftus/Lofthouse, Yorkshire; sailed to US and gave birth to my Great Grandmother, Florence Philadelphia BROWN in Sep. 1889 in Olyphant, PA...She is rumored to have died around the time of Florence's birth... but I don't have her for sure death date or where she is buried. Would love to know what happened to Great Great Grandpa James Brown, too, but this lady is the big eluder...Thanks in advance for any help!

GJ,

Thank you so much for looking into this! What a nice surprise to see first thing in the morning!! I have looked in to the other children - the girls, at least...they ended up in the Sidney, NY, area, and I have pictures of their gravestones. I think that the boy, James, died during childhood because he didn't show up on later censuses - it's been a while since I've looked at all of this, and I'll have to dig through my file folders to see where I've already searched. I used to have a membership to Ancestry but could no longer afford it after having kids of my own...maybe in a few years, when I don't have to pay for daycare... :)

I will have a chance this weekend to look at the links that you posted - now I REALLY can't wait for Friday to get here!!

Thank you again for your help!!

Nicole
