Good morning everyone. Here is my brickwall: Thomas Miles Morgan Sr. born in 1790ish in either VA or SC. Depending on which Uncle you believe...lol I"m searching for information on him and his wife, Catherine, who's maiden name is unknown. Most of my Morgan ancestors ended up in KY, as did Thomas SR and Catherine. My line goes like this:
Thomas Sr and Catherine Morgan
William Miles and Mary Ann Rudd
Jeremiah Miles and Julia O'Connor
George Morgan and Samantha Munsell
Jessie Henry Morgan and Catherine Malaric (these are my biological grandparents)
Muriel Morgan (my mom)
and me

Thank you soo much for your response, I have a bit of information that might help, here goes: The earliest event recorded in KY that I can find so far is the birth of Garthena Morgan, the last child born to Thomas and Catherine. She was born around 1831, died 1909. Below is the list in its entirety, approx dates too.
Thomas Miles Morgan b.1790 in SC m.1814 in SC, died 1833 Hickman Co.KY Catherine was born abt.1793 in SC, died in 1878 in Ballard Co.KY. They are buried at the Morgan Farm Cemetery, there is one stone there, and we believe it is theirs.
Their children are:
Winney b.1815 or 16 in SC m.1836 in HIckman Co KYIndiana, city unknown.
they were said to have left SC around that time or earlier, the rest of the children except the last were all born in
William Miles b.1818 m.1842 d.1891 in Ballard Cty KY, he married Maryann Rudd b.in VA(this is where the confusion is.
Jeremiah b.1820 in IND. d.1853 Ballard Co, never married.
Thomas Miles JR, b.1822 m.1849 d.1879 m to Elizabeth Gholson from VA.
Catherine Melinda or Melinda Catherine b.1825 d. 1886 m.Greenbury Burrow
Narcissa b.1828 m.1852 to Benjamin Harper
and Garthena b.1831 d.1909 m.first to calvin atherton.
I hope that this will help along the line. I have a little information on some of the childrens kids and so forth. I have census reports that are of course vague until after 1850. I also have a feeling that I may have found his parents, but cannot be sure right now, I wrote down a Rueben Morgan and Elizabeth Pope as his possible parents . Any help you can give would be truly appreciated. And I'll give as much information as I can too.
Not a problem, I don;t mind the length of the messages. I'm heading out to the store, a girls gotta eat you know...lol The information that I've provided has been frm different sources, my uncle has a lot of the census records. And rec'd some information from the courthouse in KY as well.

On the LDS pilot site, I came across info on Cathrine Morgon and Thomas Morgon, I'll look up the link later today and provide you with it, there is only one child listed there. I know the spellings are off but there's no surprise there. This one here is Thomas JR.

I'll hunt the other one down for you too. Thank you soooo much! NOTE: there are several listings for Thomas JR listed on the LDS site.
The link in the above reply isn't working right, but Thomas JR, is fairly easy to find on the LDS site.

I'm hoping to put up some more info for you, but I will included my Gx4 grandfathers info, Thomas Srs son.
William Morgan b. 1818ish in IN m.1841-42 in Ballard Cty, d.1891 .Note: his grave stone is wrong, the dates are incorrect. married to Mary Ann Rudd(Polly on some documents)b.1824 to John and Nancy Rudd of VA. d.1889 her grave says 1828-1889. Their children are: Smith b.1843, not married, died abt.1860 ish in the Civil War.; Seth b.1844 not married d.1860ish in Civil War; Matilda Ann b.1846 m.1865 to John Byesee; Nancy Catherine b.1848 married to Kesse or Kessee, 1st name unk; John W. b.1847-49ish, not married, d.1934; Jeremiah(Jerry, my direct blood line), b.1850 m.1872 to Julia O'Conner from Ireland, d.1919 per death cert. possibly married twice according to a census found; Miles Marshall b. 1852 m.Sarah Hammet d. in TX. 1880 census shows Sarah w/two children; George b.1852, no other info; Hannah b.1854 not married, and Rhoda b.1856 d.1889 grave says 1856. I have the census printed up for William, here is a link though to his grave, Larry Morgan, a shirttail relative of sorts photographed them on findagrave.com He photographed all of the Morgan's he could find there, I forgot to mention that. I told Uncle Jim about the stone, he said the date was wrong per info rec'd in court records in KY. Lemme know if this link doesn't work.... http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Morgan&am...;
I will reply to the rest of y our inquiry later today, possibly tomorrow, once I pull out my census records. Thank you for your help, I will be checking all of the links you sent me before as well. Dawn
Hi there...still hunting records for you. I've found most of the census records thru Heritage Quest online the link you have above is one of the ones I have. Though all those tell us are how many people are in the household unfortunately. Cathrine does show up in one of the later census, either 1850 or 1860 as widowed. I check for sure. Yes, I agree, quite a stone they got for him, I just wish we had a better pic of what we think is Thomas' and Catherines. Its a lone stone, situated on the Morgan Farm cemetery aka the old Buck Hayden' farm is what I have listed per my uncle.

More soon,OH, the link for the FHL, I have no idea how to get into the info that it holds, is there a secret?
Thank you...I was asking about how to view the listings, I'll try option one...I'll be back, and thank you,
