to Donald Richard Mathieson, do you have any info on their marriage? how do you know he was born in or from NH? maybe your info is mistaken? Where did they live after the marriage? or where did children live etc? or who were their children?

to Michael Church in case it might connect:

MRS. EMMA FRANCES COBB. 99864
Born in Chester, Vt.
Wife of Lyman Daniel Cobb.
Descendant of Lieut. Joshua Church, as follows:
1. Martin Church (1825-1906) m. 1848 Lydia Maria Paddleford (1830-61).
2. Ira Church (1795-1877) m. 1814 Clarissa Earl (1791-1853).
3. Joshua Church, Jr. (1765-1840), m. Abiah (d. 1813).
4. Joshua Church m. 1765 Keziah Goss.
Joshua Church (1743-1834) served several enlistments, 1776-80, as
quartermaster and lieutenant, under different commands, New
Hampshire and Vermont troops. In 1818 applied for a pension,
which was allowed. He was born in Lancaster, Mass.; died in
Chester, Vt.
and this one was next, same area, so might connect?

I guess these all show descendants, but it might help some, you might want to try a name search here yourself, there were 14 references to Church in this particular DAR book, but there are many town & family histories there as well, good luck!

@Michael Church: what years are you looking for on Joshua Church, was he in Rev. War? I see some DAR references to some.

Oh, Nancy, I know the feeling! The same thing happened to me with my very first release of my research in writing to family members. . .it was several months of work (and $) which I found online with no credit to me, including a fictionalized introduction I had written. Then it happened again when another family member used my work, including corrections of published material to join the Mayflower Society (and for 5 lines). This person had not done the research but was more than ready to take the credit. Since these experiences, I have been reluctant to "give it all away" before I get it published myself. It's hard to balance the ethical issues with the knowledge that the results truly do belong to the whole family. As you say, we would just like to be credited with the work.
