Hi everyone,My name is Judy where as I live now in Fla. I was born in Maine. Most of my family come from the New Eng. States and since this is a first for me talking to a group, just let me get the feel first ok. But my wall has been the Roundy/Thurston,my grt. grf and grt. grm who lived (I think) in Alstead, New Hampshire. I've yet to find the correct lineage. Here's hoping someone can shed a light my way.

Response to Michael Church re: Joshua Church,
Without dates it is difficult to narrow down the results of a quick search but here are some possible leads:
Probate Records of Worcester Co., MA have two listings of Administration for 2 Joshua Church's of Templeton, MA, one dated 1766 (Case 11799) and the other dated 1851 (Case 11800).
Lancaster (MA) Vital Records to 1850 have a Joshua Church marrying Annis (Alles) Johnson on 1728 Nov 19, and the births of 8 children, including a Joshua, born 1743 Aug 6, who them married Keziah Goss on 1765 Feb 21.
MA State Archives, Vol lxxxiv (publ. NEHGR v14 p271) contains a list of persons in captivity, having been taken at Fort Wm. Henry in 1757 August, and included is a Joseph Church, son of Joshua, who was taken twice.
The other place you might check is the Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Database Index . . . there are many records for Churches, including a Joshua William Church, 1881-1935, who is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
I realize none of these leads are in VT, but much of VT and NH was settled by the children of people already settled in MA and RI, in the search for new land.
I know how it is to have these kind of brick walls so I hope it helps!

Although not a New Englander my roots stem back to Orleans County, VT. I've tried to find information regarding my 2ggfather, Joshua Church, but have not been able to after several years of research.

Hi my Name is Dan Robinson, I've been doing some family research. My family is from Thetford, Vermont (mostly and some western New Hampshire). From present to past: my father: Charles Robinson, Myron Robinson, Charles H. Robinson, Henry Robinson, Stephen Robinson (b. 1811) and that's currently where I'm at, any help would be great, I'm scanning pics and will have some more posted soon. Thanks

Donald, I find Nelson and wife Alice living in Everett, Mass., with Alice's parents in 1920 and I find Nelson and Alice and 6 children on the census in Boston in 1930. Have you looked in Boston city directories to see when he shows up there? Do you know if his parents lived in the Boston area? You could check for them, too.
