Looking for information on the Witmer/Widmer family from the Lancaster. They were possibly Mennonites settled in about the 1700's.

I am researching PA ancestors in the Lancaster area. Particularly Lancaster borough, Salisbury, Earl, and Intercourse areas. Names I am researching are Shee/Shay, Cron, Biegler, Rehrer/Rohrer, Mowrey, Lafferty, Troop and possibly Pool and Muldoon.
Also looking for information on Bridget, Catherine, Martin, and Patrick Ford siblings who immigrated from Ireland to Philadelphia in 1884. They were without any adults so I am trying to discover who their parents were.
I am not in the area so I do not have the historical society or cemeteries nearby.

Dianne, you might try the " Revolutionary War Ancestor" group. They could probably help you out with DAR since a lot of them seem to belong to DAR or SAR.

He appears in1820 census in WV in 1820. Anyone know of this family? Has anyone researched for DAR who can tell me what kind of documentation I need and where to get it.

Heidi

I don't, since the information was given to me by a cousin and our family is off the Swoyer line .. but I will definitely look into it. I'm trying to get all the spouses' parents' names at least but that isn't exactly the easiest of things to do. (I want my Register Forms to be as detailed as possible, so I want to be able to say So-and-So married So-and-So [ daughter of whomever] on this day etc etc)

I'll let you know what I find!

Caro,

"Do you have a Feietta Rauch in your tree? She was born in 1819 and died between 1853 and 1857. She was married to Samuel Swoyer and had seven children with him. (After she died, he remarried and had eight more children!!) The children of Feietta and Samuel were Caroline, John, James, Jacob, Charles, Maria Anna, Olivia.

Sound familiar at all? "

I looked at the information I have but none of those names show up. Do you happen to have information on Feietta's siblings or parents?
