I have been researching my Mother's side of the family. They appear to come from Northern Switzerland. Family names Chrest and Rohr.

Hi I have been researching my husbands side of the family. And they were from Michigan & Indiana areas but the Huber line had came from Switzerland. So was hoping to find out how to do research for Switzerland to confirm what I have found on census records. And to see if there is any relatives out there for my husband.

Hello Delores,

You sent a message to everyone on the list, but I don't see a way to contact you individually, or your message here. Buchmüller is listed as having citizenship at 4 localities in Switzerland, [see http://history.swissroots.org/swissroots/en/stories/heritage/Geneal... ], one of which is Brittnau in Canton Aargau, and I would suspect is your "Brittnen." Note that Wyss also holds citizenship there, which may what you have as Wist.

Hello, my name is Jessica.
Genealogy is the "never ending" search... for me at least.
My family, on my mother's side, is Swiss. Most of them lived in Engi, Glarus, Switzerland.Their surname originally was Martis, then Marti, now Marty. Most of them finally settled in Minnesota, where I was born. I do have information, but sometimes I will meet "new family" or find an interesting story from long ago, maybe I can even help someone else. Never know.

Hi, I've been researching my Burgner heritage and linked myself back to David, Christopher and Peter Burgner who Immigrated from Berne in 1734. I believe the name was Burgener before immigration. I'm glad to have found some fellow Swiss looking for long lost family history. Hope to get to know you and if you can help aid in my search I would be forever thankful

Hi,
I am researching my Wabel family. We originaly came from the German village Büsingen a.H. which is due to a unique historical event surrounded by Switzerland. The history of Büsingen is a mixture of Austrian, Swiss, German history.
With Genealogy I have been involved for around 15 years and I could gain through this time valuable experience in that field.
So I am looking forward to this forum... :-)

I am researching Hans Bindschädel in Bulach and Anna Mathys in 1670. I don't know when they died...
I have Johann Bindschäadel who married Susanna (last name unknown) about 1728 in Bulach or Unteröwisheim. I have the Ortsippenbuch for that town and it doesn't mention that they were married there...

Hans Bindschaedel's father is Sabestian b 1588 in Bulach and mother name is Verena Zander. They got married in 4 oct 1636

I would like to know who is Sabastian Bindschäadeler's parent name?

THe LDS films goes back to 1596... Is there anything before that time frame..

Hi Donna,

Riggisberg belonged to the church parish of Thurnen (now Mühlethurnen). From Mühlethurnen Church Book 6, page 138, FHL microfilm 2,005,587 is the baptism of Christian attached.Page077.tif

I am looking for information on Christian DEPPEN, b. 20 December 1705 in Riggesberg, Canton Bern, m. to Veronica RUCHTY, daughter of Christian RUCHTY and Anna KAUFMAN. Also information on Henry RIESER, b. ca. 14 October 1730, Canton Bern, m. Maria Margaret.

I am looking for info on Henry Rickle (Rickli, Rickly) born 1836 in Switerland?, Died 4 May 1883 in New City, NY (Clarkstown). Married to Eva Katherin Fetig. I've been trying to link him back to Europe. My confusion stems from one Census listing him as Swiss and another as German. I believe Eva was from Barvaria but I'm not sure if they married before or after coming to the US. I don't have ready access to resources in NY so before I start sending checks out for a wild goose chase I'm trying to post up to different sites.
