Nicholas Haile, 1575-1657, son of Robert  Hales II, Lord of the Manor of Rangeworthy, and Alice Crewe.  Nicholas married Rose Bond, 1573-1648, around 1601.  They had one son, George Heale, the Immigrant, 1601/2-1671/2.  He came on the Mayflower's ship supply and landed at Jamestown.  I have the manifest.
Rose Bond also was married to William Hale, 1551-1634, Sheriff of Hertfordshire.  They had several children, one of which was Thomas, born 1606, who came with George to Virginia.
Just a note, when it comes to Rose's marriages, I cannot find where one begins or ends.  I have found, while researching other family members, that marriages didn't always exist.

I'm hoping for some answers to a major dead end.

My ggrandfather was born Henry Hale 16 Dec 1870.  He was born in Tennessee.  He and his siblings were orphaned and adopted(?) out separately.  Henry was adopted by George Fielding of Georgia and I have a mother of "Maggie" Fielding? on his death certificate.  Henry lived his life out as Henry H Fielding.

Family has told me that the orphanage that they went to burned down in 1820, long after they were gone...but all records were destroyed.  I researched and suspect that they orphanage was Ovoca Orphanage in Tullahoma, Tennessee.  I have no idea where Henry's parents would have been from in Tennessee, but I would think not too many counties away...but, of course it could be states. :-(

So, I am looking for Hale siblings of Henry Hale with Parents who would have died the same day.

Any help would be so very much appreciated.

Not sure whether/where my Hale fits in... Looking for parents of Daniel H. Hale, born VA in 1820 or 1821. Ancestry.com profiles have him related to the Hales of Pearisburg, W.VA, which makes a lot of sense given other family connections to that area, but no one has any sources. The 1830 census for Giles Co. shows a Daniel Hale but he was only 9 or 10 at the time and there was another Daniel Hale in the town (Daniel P.) who was older and probably fits that entry. Daniel H. Hale moved to Iowa, then to California in the 1850's. He married Sarah LNU in Iowa in 1842 and they show up in the CA censuses. It's his parentage that has me 100% stumped. Thank you for anything!. I am interested in seeing if anyone out there has a photo of Henry Hale or Rebecca Fawbush (his wife) They lived in Tennessee and had several children. I have posted a photo of there daughter Mattie Hale on  Gen.wise.  I would also be interested if anyone has pics of any of the other children of Henry and Rebecca

Hello all,

I believe I also descend from Nicholas Hale/Haile but I am having some problems connecting the dots. I am currently working on my Hale line migrating from Patrick County, Virginia to Gallia County, Ohio. My mother is a Hale. This is what I have and know so far.

My grandfather was born Bobby Lee Hale, later changed to Robert due to the U.S. Navy.

Bobbie (Robert) Lee Hale 1925-2003 (Rockbridge, Ohio/Columbus, Ohio) m. Patricia Gene Kelly.

Born to George Victor Hale 1900-1974 (Gallia Co, OH/Columbus, Ohio) m. Hilda Ellen Grove

Born to George W Hale 1881-1908 (Gallia Co, OH) m. Jesse Cofer.

Born to John N Hale 1847-1912 (Gallia Co. OH) m. Susannah "Anna" Large.

Born to William Hale ?1801 or 1811 (somewhere in Virginia) m. Judith "Juda" Ware or Nare.

I become stuck after William. I believe at this point, this Hale side migrated from Patrick County, Virginia to Gallia County, Ohio. And I believe this line originates from a James Hale and Polly (Mary) Cummings.

Recently, I have been reading history books on Jackson County, Ohio and The Hanging Rock region of Ohio. There is mention of a James, John, and Moses Hale in each history. Moses and John were sons of James and Polly Cummings Hale. They also had a son William, however that William moved to Tennessee, so it is not my William. A search of the other Hale brothers, do not bring another William Hale. This is why I am currently stuck on William Hale.

I would love to make contact with anyone on the board that is familiar with the Ohio Hale line.

I believe I might descend from Nicholas Hale. My name is John Hale. I can trace my family back to John Hale(s) b. abt 1750, d. 1801 in modern day King George County, Virginia in the Northern Neck. I am having trouble verifying his ancestors except that I believe his father may have been Benjamin, and his father may have been George(born abt. 1702 who died in King George abt 1752 who was married to Susannah Edrington. I can't definitively say that this George is the son of George Nicholas Hale, who descended originally from Nicholas Hale. I have found that my George Hale(s) b.1702-1756 may have had a John Hales (1678-1727) instead of George Nicholas as his father. Can anyone shed any light on when possibly the Hale(s) migrated to then Westmoreland/Stafford Counties which today in current King George County?

Trying to find if the name Hill changed to Hale/Haile. I have Lord Robert (Lord of the Manor of Rangeworthy) I Hale (BORN: 1520 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England; DIED: 1585 in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire, England). Lord Robert’s father may be John Hale (BORN: 1495 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England; DIED: 1535 in England). John’s father is shown as: Giles Haile Hill (BORN: 1475 in Houndstone, Somerset, England; DIED: 30 Apr. 1547 in Cornwall, England.

How does the Haile Hill fit? Was the surname Hale/Haile and the Hill signify a place name, or was the surname Hill and was changed to Hale/Haile?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I am the great grand daughter of Chester V Hale. He was born in Texas 1876 to David M and Drucilla Foote Hale. He had 2 brothers Edgar & George. David was born in TN 1848, died in 1880 in Collin County Texas. David's father was A Hale. This is where the mystery begins. In the 1850 Collin county Texas census, he is listed as A Hale, born in TN and is 54 years old. He died after 1853 as his wife Hannah is remarried to Joshua Knoy in the 1860 census.  After years of research we have no clue as to who A Hale is or who his family is...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Update on my research of my Hale line.

A before unknown cousin was located who is the great granddaughter of Henry Hale a brother to John Hale, my great grandfather. She stated that her mother (Mary Quinn) always told her and her brother they were not really Hale. They were AKERS. Her mother told them an Aker was adopted either by Henry Hale or his father John Hale, my great great grandfather.
