I have a brick wall in about 1795 with Antonio Rossini born in Como who migrated to Scotland and married in 1819. I am trying to find his parents but not sure if he was born in Como the city or Como the Provence. An Italian genealogist has advised that unless I can locate a village where he was born I may have to visit over 400 parishes taking about three years.
I must admit that I am surprised, given my understanding of the migration of Italian people to the USA, that there is not available all courses for the Italian certificate. Given my Italian ancestry through my parternal grandmother I know I am waiting patiently to have the chance of learning more about Italian records.
Yes, I have similar feelings about Scottish courses although I have found other sources including a cousin and her mother, Strathclyde University and another source for similar courses.
Currently enjoying the course on female ancestry and learning much about researching my female ancestors.
Hello Brian. I am glad you are enjoying the Researching Women course. It was one of my favourites. :) Unfortunately, we do not have any new Italian (or Scottish) courses to add at this time. We will post a notice for new courses as they become available. We have been focusing our attention on updating our website, which is very exciting and we are anxious to launch it! There will be many new features to explore. :) Cheryl
