My Dickerson's are from Georgia. Mostly from Reidsville, Tattnall, Bulloch, Savannah and Glenville. My 4th great grandfather, James Dickerson, was born in North Carolina about 1803, but I have no other information on him. He might have died in 1841 in Savannah.
I do not know if my Dickerson's tie into yours but it is worth checking. I have learned that our ancestors traveled a lot and some went off on their own starting new branches in other states.
Thanks, Evelyn
My Dickersons are from Indiana and Kentucky but I have met a few people in Texas with the Dickerson name. One is in the Beaumont, TX area the other was in Houston.

Hi Kelli,
My James Dickerson born about 1803 in NC, married in 1833 to Honor Ophelia Groover, b 1818 Bulloch Cty., Ga. The rumor was he later married someone else in Savannah.
I wonder if the two James could be related?
Seeling information on Elizabeth Dickerson/Dickenson, b 1760 Orange, VA; d
6 Sep 1785 Albemarle, VA. Marriage :5 Apr 1773 Albemarle, VA to Charles Burris.
My Dickerson's came from London, England to Virginia to Jessamine County, KY, starting with Richard Dickinison in 1564. Newton Dickerson, born 2/12/1811 in Jessamine County is my great-great-grandfather. His son, Luther B Dickerson is my great grandfather. He had three children with Elsie Simpson, a mulatto woman. My grandmother is one of the children. I am trying to find information on Elsie. Her death certificate states her father was," Unknown Simpson, born in Scotland" and her mother was, "Unknown, born in USA".I have fairly complete records of these Dickerson's back to 1564, happy to share info. Thanks.

Philemon Dickerson + Mary Paine (b. 1611) =
Peter Dickerson (bap. 1648 MA) + Naomi Mapes (b. 1667) =
Thomas Dickerson + Abigail Reeve (m. 1712 or 1715) =
Thomas Dickerson + Sara Wager (m. 1737) =
Walter Dickerson + ?? =
Noadiah Dickerson (b. 1760) + Phoebe Heaton (b.1767 ; m. 1784) =
John H. Dickerson (b. 1804) + Margaret Howder =
Phoebe Heaton Dickerson (b.1829 NY) + Jeptha Cummins (b. 1827 ; m. 1852)
That is as far as the Dickerson name went. Phoebe Heation Dickerson died in 1922 in SD. One of their children was born in 1859 in MI.
Hope I have made a connection :-)
