Researching the family and descendants of Samuel Moore (d. 1828) of Greenville County, South Carolina. I am descended from his son William Spencer Moore of Greenville and then Anderson County, SC, through his son Harlston Perrin Moore of Anderson County, SC > Dallas County, Texas. Spencer's brother Bud Mathis Moore (Greenville) also had descendants. I am compiling a database of descendants of Samuel Moore.
My MOORE line has been my most challenging to research. My gggreat-grandmother was Mary MOORE b. abt 1817 in KY d. before 1880 in most likely Dewitt Co, IL. On 16 Jan 1845 in Fayette Co, OH she married my gggreat-grandfather Amos Jones STAGNER b. abt 1822 in OH d. after 1880 in most likely Henry Co, MO. I have found her in the 1850 Fayette Co, OH, 1860 Dewitt Co, IL, and the 1870 Dewitt Co, IL census. Her father's name may have been John MOORE but I don't have any other proof.

Trying to trace my Moore family tree is like trying to identify which grains of sand came from the same stone!!! I have gotten as far as Daniel and Deborah Poling Moore in Fredrick County MD in 1780's. They ended up in Randolph County, then Barbour County WV. Some of the family moved to Ohio and Kentucky in early 1800's and scattered from there as far as I can tell. The Moores, at least my branch took to heart the biblical " Be fruitful and multiply"!!! I've been told that the name Moore is in the top 5 most common names in USA. If anyone can help me with my tree, please message me. If I can answer any questions anyone may have about my Moores, I will be glad to help.
I am researching the Moores from Annabeg, Collooney, Sligo. Several children of Patrick Moore emigrated to NYC in 1870's. Some went to Rhode Island. My gr-grandfather, William Moore, settled in Queens County and had 12 children

The Jeremiah Moore family migrated to Carter County, Kentucky area. Then by 1850 to Clayton County, Iowa, then by 1854 Madison County, Iowa, then abt 1864 they left for Oregon with two bachelor sons, Philip M. Moore and John W. Moore. Jeremiah was born abt 1779/81.
Very interesting migration pattern for your Moore's, so close to the ones I am searching for. Other researcher's have Jeremiah's father as George Moore, but his son Hiram stated in a couple of bios that his grandfather was a William Moore. I have worked on this line for almost 10 years and a lot more research is needed.
