Hi! I have been a student of The National Institute for Genealogical Studies for two years now. My family's roots are Ireland and Scotland and I am very interested in learning more about the places they lived (Falkirk and Caithness) and the lives they had. I hope to take a number of Scottish courses when I get to my electives. I have already signed up for the "Planning a Research Tour to Scotland."  That will be a great trip!

I have an ancestor Antonio Rossini who was born about 1795 in Como, Italy. He came to Scotland at some stage prior to around 1819 when he married Martha Abercrombie. I think he worked as a wire cage maker in Glasgow. I have tracked his descendants to my my paternal grand mother who died in Brisbane, Australia in 1946. Unfortunately, I have not been able to trace the village he was actually born in  so just wondering if any student has ancestors with the surname Rossini that may help me with my research.
