If that's the case, we might have a connection - my link is through a Lois Burnet, b.abt. 1669 in Southampton, NY, her father was Thomas Burnet who emigrated, and his father was Thomas Burnet (m. Jane Foys) from Leys, Kincardineshire.
Hi Alana it was neat to read your message to me about your Dunlop line from Scotland. It will be interesting to find out if the Dunlap name originated from the spelling of Dunlop. I do think it is a good probability.

I've mainly focused on my one direct line that moved to Braintree in Essex England and then on to America, so I know there are siblings, aunts uncles that stayed behind but I don't have much yet on them. I do have 2 books that I could do look-ups in for you (maybe you already have them) - "The Holly and the Horn - Burnett of Leys Family & Branches", and "Crannog to Castle - A History of the Burnett Family in Scotland".
