Thank you Trudy. I am also a veteran from the Vietnam era. This began as a challenge to me to see if I could prove lineage. It has developed into where all my family look to me for family history. My birth certificate would be in question as it does not give my parents names only my name and date of birth. However I do have my moms obit and my baby book.

I see what you are saying on fees which isnt as bad as I thought. Being several generations removed I had heard a $100 per generation which would be over $700.00 too much for my social security disabilty. Although I have one very direct line to which census records take me back along with my mothers birth certificate I dont know if there has been anyone joining under his name, he did not recieve a pension nor land grant do I would depend on history books for my prove of which I do have a copy.

I know we have a chapter here in town that mets at the country club however I do not have their schedule. I will have to do more checking into it. I am not from the state I reside in, nor does my children or grandchidren know anything about my family. This I would like to leave for them. I have two lines for certain and three more that I havent gotten vertified.
