The Smith's came from England in 1911, two years before my father was born and settled in Pittsfield, MA. Edward Smith (my grandfather) born in Long Wittenham, Berks, England 1875; His father is Alfred Smith b. abt 1845 in Long Wittenham, Berks, England ; Mother Alice Stacey b. abt 1853 in Burcote. That is as far as I have gotten. Edward was the only one of that family who came to the states as far as I know.
The Scotts (my grandmother, Edith) all came over - her father and her six siblings. William Henry Scott b. abt 1859 Ramsgate, Kent, England; wife Hannah Patten b. abt 1859 d. (before 1900, I think). William emigrated in 1910 through Canada.
The Hills are my husband parents. I have books that they published. William Elmer did a very small research. Goldie Mae Althouse (my husband's mother) followed the Wagy-Waggy side.
