    My Shoemaker clan is closely allied with the Vanderpools and I was told we were of Dutch-German heritage. The first record I have is William Riley Shoemaker 1775-1847 born in Maryland and died in Virginia, married Phebe Ann Spencer. One child Jacob 1816-1902 (in Kentucky) who married Katherine E. Kaiser and had a son Andrew. Andrew 1845-1934 married Margaret Evelyne Baker and fathered David Thomas 1872-1928 (South Lebanon, OH). David was my grandfather. He married my grandmother, Phoebe Evaline Vanderpool. My mother was Laura Emily Shoemaker Newton. I have more concise dates on some of these if you are interested.
