Yes I did. I have been researching my husband's family along with mine. His mother and grandparents were from Canada. Names are Pilon and Bissonette. Have you come across these names anywhere in Canada?

My husbands grandmother, Marie Louise (Bissonett) Pilonn was born in St. Eugene, Ontario, Canada on 18 Oct 1873. She married William Pilon. I have no info on him. She came to the US in 1911. They had a son Joseph Romeo Pilon, b. 17 Aug 1902 in Hawksbury, Ontario, Canada, My husbands mother, Marie Isabelle Pilon was born 19 Oct 1903 in Ontario, Canada.

Joseph Fortin came from and who his parents were. The only thing I know for sure is that he was born(24-06-1849) in Montreal/or Quebec. His parents died and he was raised by the nuns in a convent in Montreal (or so the story goes). I know who he married but not where. He married Mary(Marie) Chartrand who came from the Ste Marthe area. She was born 17-06-1860. Her parents were Moise (Moyse) Chartrand and Rose Campeau (who were married in St Clet 01-Oct 1853. So though I am of French Canadians Lalonde/Fortin/Leonard/Sequin I have been lost for some time.
Would you please help me? I do not know who to contact. I guess I am truly a beginner in this endeavor. I am an old nurse who still works (though right now I am recovering from shoulder surgery) I am married, have four grown children and 9 gkids. You are a sweetheart to help a southern lady/albet even though I came from Michigan originally..haha I know some of the family are on the Loiselle tapes and found them there, the Fortin line is dead from my standpoint. The death certificate did not have his parents names and although there were many Fortins in Bay City where the ggparents died and buried, I have not found WHO were related yet. It is like a puzzle. Have always liked figuring things out..regrettably this has me stumped. Will write more later. I am delving into the census things and hope something shows up there. Your southern friend Debbie
