Hi and thanks for the welcome. While CRABTREE sounds rare, there around 23,000 of us. There was another Michael CRABTREE that played for Texas Tech
last year. He was an outstanding wide reciever and there was Eric CRABTREE who played for Cinn. I am caucation but I have met quite a few African-Amerrican
CRABTREE. Thanks for your input and I will be happy to be your friend.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. My granddad was a Jones but the surname name comes from his mother. My granddad Jones' line is my one line that I doubt I will ever get back much further than him, yet on my dad's side that's the one I want the most because we / I know the least about it. I've only found who I think is my great-grandmother on one census and even that doesn't say she's my granddad's mother. I have a post about my great grandmother on the blog I'm doing for dad's side of the family, (www.conversationswithmyancestors.blogspot.com), if you want to check it out.
I forgot to add that some of my Jones cousins are in TX but they migrated there. My first cousin is originally from FL and here daughter was born and grew up in CA. My first cousin and her husband moved to TX over ten years ago. Seems like they were there hardly no time when her husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her daughther recently got married and is expecting my first cousins first and probably only grandchild.
Sorry about the typos. I never catch the darn things until after I've already posted.
Anyway, my first cousin lives in Plano and her daughter and son-in-law live in Katy. Her other two children are still in CA. My dad's side of the family, the Joneses, is much smaller than my mom's side but scattered from the east cost to the west cost. Mom's side (grandparents descedents), which is at least 5 times as big as dad's side, for the most part are all right there in my hometown in NC.l

Thanks very much, Chastity. That looks very promising for a family connection. I visited the Hockaday School website, downloaded their video, and emailed a staff member to ask for their founder's (Ela Hockaday) family history.
The Williams boys went to the four winds! I joined the Williams DNA Project and everything in between and still can't fine my Williams great-grandparents.
Good luck. Hope yous is better than mine has been.
Young is my husbands last name and his people are from Oklahoma in a town called Brooksville, which is outside of Shawnee. They are part Choctaw Indian whom migrated into Oklahoma in the early 1900's or late 1890's.
Hi .. the Williams I am researching came from Monticello area in Florida. They are my husband's family ... his maternal great-grandfather's family. Theodore Lovett Williams
I'm actually looking for Copper, but if I find any Coopers in Texas I'll let you know! Thanks for the welcome. Looks like you have a little one at home!!
Hi Chasity . This pic was taken In Forest Park, St. Louis, MO. I am pointing to my personalized brick that was installed in spring 2009. You can purchase a brick & the money goes to "Forest Park Forever". My brick says "Eternal Roots, 7 generations, Cherie Leeser". It is so neat to read what others have put on their bricks. Such a lot of history there.
Thanks for commenting on my pic. If you do not know the history of Forest Park, you might be interested in the history by doing a Google. The most famous event it is famous for is the 1904 World's Fair that was held there. It also has one of the best zoo's in the US, Muny Opera, & Art Museum, just to name a few things that are located there.
Good deal Chastity. My email is Lhasapoo@yahoo.com or if you ever need to leave me a message here you can. You have to be careful around my Jones side mentioning famous people. They will claim them in a minute whether we are related to them or not.
Just occurred to me that I think we are supposed to have other relatives living in TX but I don't know if they are still living and don't remember where they lived. My dad's older sister gave me their names back in the late 80s early 90s when I first started on this. I never contacted them or tried to look them up because 1) my aunt was prone to telling large tales about who we were related to and 2) that was when I just started, long before figuring out that working some of the possible side branches could lead you back to the main branch. Will have to dig her letters to me back out and see if I can find that information.
Hopefully, this forum can help a lot of us connect to people that can assist us that we would not have come in contact with through the many other forums.
Sure no problem; the Young's have a big family and we are still researching and we are in the process of searching - Trails of Tears hope you may have information to share.
Thank you Chastity for the welcome. Are you in any way connected to our list of families or just out there? I not real sure how this program is going to work yet.
Donna J. Ferguson
I would be honored to to be related and there is a lot of German in my tree too. And I would be more honored to be related to Michael if he would sign a contract.
