Bob, I am researching the GODBY/GODBEY surname. I haven't gotten very far back. I do know my g.grandfather Wm M Godby and his wife Margaret C. SMITH. They came to TX from AL abt 1860.
I cannot identify parents for Wm M Godby but, I believe the family may have come from GA.
Could you let me know about the Godby family you are researching?
I know of Thomas Godby of VA and I believe my family is connected to him but, I am still stuck on trying to find parents for Wm M. Godby. Thanks for the reply.
I checked out the link you sent to godbey.org. Thanks for telling me abt that. Very intriguing stuff. It just seems there is something there but, it's going to take some more research to hook that up to my line of Godby.
It's so frustrating when you come so close to a breakthrough and just can't find the one standout thing that makes it all work. Thanks again. Dodie
Hi Bob,
Welcome to the Massachusetts Ancestry Group. While the Wipfler name is not one of those I am (or have) researched, I am sure that this group will provide some leads.
Happy hunting,

Hello, I have family all around you, but don't seem to match any. Heading home to Albion next week to do some further research. Nice to see others from the area doing research. Always available to help also. Good luck with your work.
Hi Bob-
Regarding your comment on Most Wanted, would you please post a discussion on the group, so we can easily keep track of your information and the responses to your query?

I am another at the Wall. I am seeking information on John Mooney (1822- ) Ireland and Mary Hehir (1820-1880) both Ireland. Family stories indicate County Clare. The Clare Heritage Centre in Corofin, County Clare reported completion of research on John Mooney and Mary Hehir. The search involved a full and detailed study of all Marriage Registers at their disposal. They failed to uncover evidence of the couple's marriage. The available Baptismal Registers also failed to show any records on children to a John Mooney and Mary Hehir.
Any suggestions?
I checked the recommended sites but came up emty-handed. I subscribe to ancestry.com International every other year and this is my "no" year. I can't access the data from America. Some other sites have links that have expired and unusable. My John Mooney apparently died at sea between UK and Canada/United States.
I have searched www.familysearch.org and the pilot withiut success. Tried GenSmart but that doesn't go back far enough. Tried Stevemorse.com/org in every color imagneable. One of these days he'll probably drop out of nowhere. Just hope I'm still around to catch him!
No, that's not the same one. I've added the pic of her headstone. With the dates of
1898-1952 and the name as Olive B. Games.... Going out the door. She's ready....lol

If we get a Godbey/Godby group established here, maybe you could put those links up for everyone. Thanks again.
