    If you have mutation 493 in your mtDNA C1 report, then you are for sure a C1b. What other mutations do you have. Perhaps I can help. I tested several C1 in my Native American studies.

    Hello Marilyn. Yes, you are definitely a C1b because of the 493 mutation. What mutations did you have with the Genographic Project (HVR1)? The HVR2 from FTDNA has all the mutations for C1b, but no others that would help link to any specific lineages. Perhaps there is something more in the HVR1 part. Let me know. Thanks, Ugo
