I may be able to help you out with the DAR patriot.
You have to go back to the different generations.
proving each one to the next generation to your patriot. Then you just have prove that they fought or gave aid in the war. just let me know if you need help

Dianne working on the STack house information. Also Vital Records for PA were not mandatory until the 1900's. A B< M < D record could be found via newspaper, church records, cemetery data and some times land data recorded some information.
hey dianne
if you get this please send answer me allright. I found some information for you. got the stuff from the state archives. We need to find a will showing that Joshua belonged to his father. thats all we need girlie. rest of its been done. going to see if i can work on that end too.
hey dianne
Be on look out for your package in the mail allright. Got it mailed out just before I left for Va. You have the right Joshua Just look at the 1880 census with his son listed on it with him in Monroe Co. Ohio. We need to find document that has Joshua listed on there with his father Jacob.
I got the package today. Still looking at it. Thanks so much sweetie for the work. Not sure on Jacob. Have a census of Joshua that asks that same question where were parents born and he says unknown. Isaac has a Son Jacob born 1791 in ohio. If I can find out when Jacob died maybe that will help with the 1850 census you sent me. Have fun in Virginia and be careful in the snow. Dianne
We know which cemetery Joshua and Mary are buried at in Wetzel Co. WV. That will help out a little bit if we can get a picture of there tombstones. If you look at the census records after 1850 dont they say where his parents were born etc? Let me look that over and will get back to you. Im glad you got the package today. Something to read over the snow storm were having..lol.. I still have about $30.00 left over from what you sent me. I need to look over the applications again up at DAR Library to see when jacob was born and died.
yes the information should be there girlie. i just ran out of time to really study them while i was up there. They were a little bit confusing with the additonal documents they had on them..
I know sweetie.. But Ive checked several things and your Joshua is the one from Monroe Co. Ohio that died in Wetzel Co. WV. Do you know if the other Joshua had a son named George. W. Stackhouse. His death record states Joshua and Mary Mcfarland Stackhouse as his parents.
The 1850 doesnt state where his parents were born. only where he is born. same thing for 1860-1870. from 1880 to the rest of them does it give the parents place of birth.. patsy
just checked the 1880 census doesnt give where his parents were born..
1900 says both parents born ohio
1910 doesnt say.. but the 1900 works as proof and thats all you need..
patsy
i thought that on george death record it listed his parents as joshua and mary on it who ever gave it ddnt know where they were born at. i need to pull that notebook its in my car trunk..
Your right George's father Joshua birth place was listed as unknow, but he was born in monroe co. ohio. It's Joshua father that is the mystry. LOL dianne
