There are many Wendt families in Michigan. It surprised me when I started doing research. While I don't have the couple you mentioned in my tree, I can tell you my Wendts came from West Prussia near Tczew.
Have you looked at two free databases which have Michigan records:

I am a new member of Genealogy Wise. I am interested in the Truchel name. My grandfather was Wladyslaw Majkowski b 01 Feb 1887 to Franciszek Majkowski and Maryanna Truchel in Poland/Russia, possibly in a place called Janki. Wladyslaw d 25 Nov 1950 in Southington CT. I am interested in any information that would lead me to information about the Truchel line. I was told by relatives that she was part French and that her father was in Napoleon's army. I have nothing to prove/disprove that. I'd appreciate hearing if you have any connection to this family.
