That group of Teagues are the ones we are trying to establish a firm connection to. I know that a branch of them ended up in Canada after the Rev. War, but the rest of them stayed in the US along the Eastern seaboard.

Our problem is.... we cannot get any further back than my g-g-grandfather William Swaim Teague, born November 1837 in Warren County, TN. We have his mother's name - Winifred Nancy BRAY, but the name of his father has been completely obliterated from history. And it appears that it was done intentionally.

We know that William had a sister born 1828, named Nancy Bray Teague. And he had a brother born in 1830, named Isaac Henderson Teague. Where Nancy was born, we aren't sure - probably Warren County. And Isaac - he was born in Henderson County, TN.

The family moved from TN to Texas in 1854. William went into the Civil War from Titus County. We can find tons of info on these people - but we cannot find who Winifred married, where she married, or when. We aren't sure if they married in TN, or in NC - which is where William always said his father was from in every census record.

But we KNOW we connect to the other Teagues - it's simply a matter of finding that man's name!! And we WILL do it! After a 16 year search, just last night we located the missing information on the father of another g-g-grandfather! It gives me hope that we will find William's father yet!!
