    Hi,

I descend from Alexander of Coirag. He was married twice, first to Ann (somthing) and then to Janet (Jean) Gordon based on what I read in the LSARL book. I would love to discuss more and help to demystify things as best as I can.

Edith have you seen the gravestones at "find a grave" on the Livingston's and other member of the party that left the Red River. I searched some names and did find some stones and just some death dates listed. Not related just have a passion for the Red River and beyond.
By the way is it the article on Kildonan Church that I sent to the site. It had a listing of the members - I have the article if you want a copy just let me know. and I to find the site confusing and wonder where the comments go.

    Hello Edith,

Sorry, I did receive your comment but have been battling bronchitis for the last week.

I have a family tree that does mention John Bushy and his family.  This family tree was done up quite a few years ago but I don't know who by. It was done on a typewriter in blue ink.

It says Katherine Pritchard m. John Matheson, Old Bushy, son of Alex. M. & it looks like they had 6 children.  1. John Pritchard Matheson (Johnny Bushy m. Anne Fraser 2. Margaret Sutherland 3. Katherine Fraser 4. Mary Murray 5, Alexander Matheson m. Catherine McArthur 6. Samuel Pritchard (Archbishop)

Those are some of the last names, it goes back to 1697.

My ancestors are mainly Matheson's but all the Pritchard's seemed to have married Matheson's.

I could scan & email this to you.

    Hi Edith,

Francis W. Murray was my great grandfather on my mother's side. He married Mary Matheson a sister of the Archbishop of Rupert's Land. Their children were Ernest (my grandfather), Canon Murray at Cedar Rapids Iowa, George of Long View Washington & Lawrence of Silver Bay Manitoba. Francis was 83 when he died. I have a copy of his certificate of baptism, which was 1845, his parents were Donald & Jane Mary Murray. I do have a copy of his marriage certificate of March 9, 1876, he was 30 & Mary Matheson was 26 when they married.
I think Albert was my mom's cousin.

That's O.K,.  it is exciting to find this stuff out and I get impatient.

Yes, my mother's name was Ruth Murray and those were the 4 cousins that she kept in touch with over the years.  The girl's were Margaret & Alberta.  Alberta married a fellow named Bateman (can't remember his first name right now) and my mom was very close to her. My mother's mother died when she was 5 and as she was an only child she was shipped off to relatives and I believe she spent a lot of time with Alberta & her family. I think Alberta was about 12  years older than her.  She was also close with Francis, one of the brothers and stayed in touch with him her whole life.  Francis moved to San Fransisco to be with his daughter after his wife died.  Margaret stayed back east married a man that was quite a bit older than her and had one daughter...whose name was Mary.  I think the other brother was Albert but can't quite remember.  It was the last brother that had something to do with a railroad,  a CEO or something.  When I was 21 I was back east with my parents visiting Henry (name just came to me) and Alberta. They had a cottage in Wisconsin on a lake.  I met Francis & Margaret & Mary as well.  But that was over 30 years ago.

    Hi Edith,

Nadine again,   I remembered the last brother's name.... it was Leonard.  He was the one that worked for the railroad.  Which one I can't remember, but I think it was one of the one's on the Monopoly board.  ha, ha.

    Hi Edith,

Thanks for that info.  Alberta Bateman might have died in Florida,  I know they went there in the winter. Alberta & Henry had 2 children,  Lee & Barbara.  I believe Lee was a Dr.  I am sure they must be in their late 60's by now.  Margaret's husband was quite a bit older than her and I think died a very long time ago.

Thank you for asking, I am feeling better.  Good old antibiotics.

So you are in Washington state?  I live just outside of Vancouver, BC

    Thanks Edith,

Very interesting to know that information.  We lost touch with that part of the family when my mom passed away in 1998.
