    Beth,

My main focus would be before 1850 but I've taken my time line on Early St. Louis all the way to 1918; and on the ancestral tree at GenCircles I've taken the descendants of the early settlers down to about the same period of time.

No problem! I like the DDSS site as well. Almpst all of my ancestors except two comes from Skåne so this database have helped me some. It's great that it can help somebody!
I hope that you will find it useful in your research.
I see that we a common surname we are researching, Dahlqvist. Although it's speelled different.

Beth, how are you connected to the Gatlins, Lucas's and Gowers? The following is how I am connected.

    Lazarus Gatlin married Sarah (unknown)
Nathan Marion married Obedience Lucas - her Mother was Nancy Gower
Albert Gallatin Gatlin married Julia Frances Morrison
Elias Tidwell Gatlin married Josephine Arrington
Oran Tidwell Galtin married Popie Ables
Geraldine Gatlin married Roy Fred Halpin
  • Geraldine Halpin

Beth, do you have any proof as to the actual connection between Nathan Marion Gatlin and his children? I have a brick wall between Albert Gallatin and Nathan Marion - no documentation. Only his daughter Nancy is mentioned in Nathan Marion's will.
  • Geraldine Halpin

Beth, what book do you have on the Gowers? Our library may have it.
  • Ellen Healy

HI, Beth, It was nice meeting another Morris County person in the chat room last night! I don't know Sean's family- was that his sister that you went with to school? (Is that proper grammar?) Take care.
  • Ellen Healy

Hi, Beth, I was referring to Sean Canning. He is married to my cousin Elizabeth. I thought you had mentioned that you had gone to school with a Canning. Sean is Chief of Police in Lincoln Park, or becoming the Town Administrator. It is a samll world, though. My son (in college) has a roommate whose parents are from Lincoln Park, and their family (Ponnwitz) knows the Cannings, too.

    Merry Christmas

Beth, I will definitely be there! I helped start the group in Oct. 2007, and I am the secretary, soon to be VP, I am Program Chair- I book the speakers, I set up the coffee- well, you get the idea. LOL! But I will be there! And about the library- I know you had told me you work at Felician College, right? I am not a degreed librarian- they called me a "paraprofessional." Fancy name only. I started at Circulation, and then helped out everywhere. But I haven't worked at the library since 1996. Then I worked in bookstores- 1 independent, the other Barnes and Noble. In between I took care of my Dad before he passed away in 2007. Got involved with Hudson County Gen- and here we are! So maybe I'll meet you in February.
  • Ellen Healy

Hi, Beth, I just wanted to let you know that the Hudson County Gen Society meeting with Michael Hait is next saturday, the 13th. It is at the Secaucus Public Library, and starts at 11:00 am. If you are interested, you can find more information at our website, www.hudsoncountynjgenealogy.org.

Hey, Beth, It was fun meeting you and chatting with you today. I just wish we had more time to sit and talk. I'm usually so busy setting up and cleaning up that I don't get enough time to do that. Maybe next time- or here on GenealogyWise! Thanks for coming to the meeting!
  • Renn LaCroix

My great-grandfather was Montgomery Binkley, the brother of your great-great-great grandfather, Davidson Binkley. Montgomer's son was David C. Binkley and his daughter was my mother, Henrietta Frances Binkley. Do you know the name of Davidson and Montgomery's father ?
  • Ellen Healy

Hi Beth- Thanks for replying to my blog post. You have an interesting page. I see that you are also Swiss and wonder where your family came from? If you spent much time with my page, you will have seen that I am very interested in my Swiss heritage. We hail from tiny Corippo in the Ticino district. Small scale sheep farmers and dairy folk. Your family?

HI, Beth, I meant to write to you last week, but I wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about Sunshine. We missed you at the chat last monday night, and someone mentioned about her, and I feel so bad. I know how you loved her. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies.
