I have recommended several friends and relatives, and some have accepted the invitation on the Thomas site. I think we're going to enjoy whatever comes up here.
Thanks Gena, a very nice welcome! I am sure being here will prove extremely interesting, informative and wonderful!! I'm looking forward to exploring and "meeting" everyone.
Thank you for the welcome message to GenealogyWise. It will probably take me a little while to find my way around the site, but I will catch on. Any real information has to be with a charge though, right?
I like the idea of the chat room though and being able to chat with others.
Gena, Is there a "rhyme or reason" to the sequence of posts on the Groups? Some of them
are latest at the top of page1 others the latest is at the bottom of the last page. It makes
browsing them very difficult.
...Lew...
I guess I just looked at the "Introduce yourself" group and notices the latest post is at the
end of page 21 while the latest post is at the start of most of the other groups. I think I
may have some of the threads in another site mixed up in my head also. :-)
Thasnks.

Thanks for putting my discussion as a featured discussion. I just got 7 new members but they didn't join my group. I think its because my Surname Group Babbitt/Babbit/Bobet doesn't appear on the list of Surname Groups. Please help.
Thank you for the warm welcome from you and your members, I hope, once settled, in I become a productive member too.

thanks Gena...looking forward to being a member of this group. I have my own blog on Google Blogs...is it possible for it to connect to this group and how do I go about doing it? Again thanks
Thanks Gena, I'm looking forward to exploring this site, taking advantage of all it has to offer and being able to contribute. The group members are awesome.
Thank you very much for the welcome. I am having some problems using this site, but Laura is helping me with it and I hope everything will soon work out.

Thank you so much for the information Gena. I am totally computer illeterate. The 58 in Cindy 58 stands for my birth year that may be why. There were no computers in 1977 when I graduated from high school and I learned to type on an electric typewriter. Thanks again for the information . Cindy
Just noticed when I browsed the surname groups list that all the surnames that have groups are not listed, such as two SPENCER groups & the WHITEBREAD group, however CAVANAUGH is listed but when you click on it, it says that the group does not exist. What gives? Thanks, Jim.
Gena, I attended your Google session at the Loveland Family History Expo yesterday and wanted to tell you again what a great job you did. I really appreciate the addition of the more current information that was not previously presented in Dan Lynch's materials. Thanks again for all the golden nuggets!
Thank you Gena for your advice. I am hoping that I will be able to progress with my research after having ignored it for about 3 years. Kind regards, Gail Richards
I love this sight and I want to thank for your part in making it happen. I am preparing a book and am using this sight to organize my information. I do have two questions:
1. Are there fees?
2. Is there a limit to the number of photo albums and "pictures" I can add? I have to potential to just grow and grow if I am allowed to:)
Gena, Thanks so much for your message. I'm glad I've found this site as folks reach out to help one another and share my passion, genealogy and family research.
Mary
Thanks for the welcome Gena. I'm just starting out, but have a head start with the family research due to some relatives that started a while back. I have however found some inconsistencies with their information, and official records, along with other peoples trees. I'm going to have to sort those out to be sure they had the right names down in their records.
I'll list a few things when I get some time, got my hands full with starting the new blog and a bunch of other things. I also have to sort out a new find , possibly taking the family tree back 10 more generations.
thank you Gena. I have been researching Sunderland Durham Bishopwearmouth for 5 years so a relative newcomer to genealogy, but a lifetime yearning fulfilled once started.
Thank you for the warm welcome. Although you flatter me by inferring that I am a genealogist...lol. However I am at least a "wannabe" genealogist and keen to learn more. I look forward to using and utilising the site.
Thanks for the info Gena. Just found this site, and I am finding my way around. I like that it is just Genealogy. I was big on Prodigy and had a slew of Genealogists I emailed with. I miss Prodigy.
Am not a big Facebook fan, I was forced to join and have no clue about it.
I am Registrar of the Transylvania Chapter NSDAR in KY, and a member of several Heritage Societes, been at their for 30 years. What a way to learn, right?.
I wish I was as organized as some of these folks.
Hello Gena,
How sad to see the gravestone of Almeta Rose Kahler, only eight years old when she died. Was she a close relative of yours? Also Lucy, aged 84?
Amy Wilson
G'day Gena, Thanks for your welcome and your welcome suggestions. As you may have noticed I've made a number of contacts already and I look forward to more. Cheers, Ruth
Good Afternoon Gena, thanks for the welcome and your tip suggestions. Im a beginning genealogist, looking forward to being a part of this community. PEACE
Thanks Gena, I have been hoping to join in with the group U5a1b1 my maternal haplo.
I am only interested in my maternal line but can only trace to early 1800 (specifically 1832 but of course know her mother's married name and maternal DNA so back a bit further, in Galway Ireland. There are no documents, famine and the troubles took all. So genealogy wont let me back further... and the maternal line are amazing women. My 17 year old famine orphan brought my maternal line here to Australia in 1849...
Can you help with information re access to the mtDNA group?
Hi, Gena, I really love the lists of sites you have been posting in the newsletter. They are very helpful, and I just copied the ones from todays' newsletter on military records. One question I have is do you know of any good sites where records of the Spanish-American War are listed?
Thanks for the comment and encouragement Gena. This is a wonderful site. I have to confess that I feel a bit overwhelmed. Trying to find the right pedagogy to learn this has left me feeling like a deer looking at an oncoming car at night with bright headlights on. Larry
Hi! I tried emailing you about the possibility of starting a new chat, but it bounced and said your box was full. When you have some space in your email, could you email me freeaainnc@ncalhn.org? Thanks!
