Hi Lesley.
This Group is the place where we Gurd family researchers can exchange information and help each other with our research. Hopefully Joy and I will keep up our record of being able to link every new Gurd 'cousin' into the tree!! The tree is at http://startx.co.uk:2317/FootGurd
Mail me at my usual email address if you have problems finding your way around the tree and I'll send you some tips, Dot
Hi Lesley
Mary Alice Gurd, was registered at birth as Alice Mary, but I've added the alternative as an 'alias' so running a search for either version will still find her. For the benefit of the other cousins, Alice Mary's father John William Gurd (1871) was married 3 times. If you look at his page on the tree, you'll see that he left his wife and younger children in England and emigrated to Australia in 1914 with his oldest son Stanley Joseph (1899). After his second wife's death he remarried and had a further 5 children. Their names aren't on the tree as they were born after the cut off date. Dot
