Hello - welcome to Genealogy Wise!  So you are into Germans in the Civil War? Interesting. I work in Gettysburg as a tour guide for a bed and breakfast. There were a bunch of Germans fighting there. Have you run into any Wolfords or Wohlfords or similar names in your research? I specialize in that name. We also have a good chat group here. Please join us some time.

Thanks for your reply. That is interesting about the Germans in the Civil War. The ones who returned to Germany after the war. I do history tours and ghost hunts in Gettysburg. Last summer we had a lot of Australians on our history tours. And there a bunch of them who went back over there after the war and are buried over there. They even have US government headstones. There is a Sons of Confederate Veterans chapter in New Zealand. They have a website with locations of graves. I haven't looked at other countries for similar posts. Are there some in Germany? What reason did they have for coming here to fight? I find this all interesting. Tonight it is snowing here and I have a 6 hour long ghost hunt in Gettysburg. Thanks again for your response. Catch you later. Check into the chat room when you log on. I am usually there. Would love to talk to you.
