Mary Elizabeth Catlin, my ggg grandmother married Martin Van Buren Schoonover 4 Nov 1860. He was born 'on the Atlantic' in 1836. Their son, Richard Eugene Schoonover was born 17 Oct 1861 in Owego, NY and died 30 Sept 1943 in Lexington Oregon. Family oral history relates that they or their heirs came west to Oregon Territory in a wagon train. I have no other information about either of them, but am just beginning my search.

I have set up an Avery discussion group. There are 26 Avery researchers on here. I thought by putting our heads together we might find some common relatives and breakdown our brick walls. Please feel free to drop in and post your Avery lines.
