    I have been doing genealogical research for abt. 7 years.

    My grandmother was Nancy Caroline "Callie" Helton. She was John William's sister. Callie married Solon "Sol" Ellis Thornton Sr. Sol was b. in Hickman Co., TN. Callie & Sol had five chilren, a daughter, Verdice who died in infancy and four sons. The sons were John Elbert, Quinton Rosevelt, John Dwight and Solon Ellis "Ellis" Thornton Jr. Ellis was my father.

    I have some info re the Heltons Alice Helton Wilemon shared with my mohter. I have also been in contact with several other Helton cousins, Danny Helton, Maxine Johnston Allen (deceased), and Sean Helton. Not sure if you recognize their names or not.

    I will be attending a Thornton Family reunion in Hickman Co., TN in Sep. I also plan to visit Tishomingo Co. MS.

    Not sure if you are aware of it or not, but there were two Helton lines who settled in Tishomingo Co., MS. Ours came through TN. Another line came from GA. I do not know if they were related or not.
