The oldest Bond I have in my database is Seth Bond, b. abt 1760 in NC, d. bef 1820 in Jones Co., GA. He had a son named Samuel. My ancestor was Seth's younger brother, Chappel Bond, b. abt 1775 in NC and died after 1860 in AL (he was in the census of 1820 in Pulaski, GA, 1830 in Lee Co. GA (was also a Justice in Inferior Court there), 1860 census of Quitman Co., GA. Chappel had a son named John M. P. (mother unknown). John was b. in GA abt 1812. He married Elcy Unknown. They were in the census of 1860 in Quitman Co., GA and in 1880 were in Dale Co., AL. John and Elcy had 5 children (that I know of). Anzada A A (m. G W Edmundson-11 children), Elcy Lougenia, California (my ancestor), John S (m. Eliza-11 children) and Amanda. All were born in GA between 1842 and about 1853. California married Elias Davis in AL; by 1910, they were in Milam Co., TX. They 6 children. My ancestor was their second son, John Aaron who married Lee Ann Brunson before 1899 in TX. They had 12 children and my father was the 3rd of 4 sons. Hope you can add to this line.

    Dear Molly,

Off and on tonight - cooking ribs and I finally took that nap :)  Still recovering from a 45-day kidney stone bout.  I descend from Thomas and Mary's daughter Elizabeth BARNES who married Benjamin BROCKETT in New Haven CT on 24 Mar 1668/69.

Laughing - as I see you have ancestors who lived at Cane Creek Meeting.  I lived in Chapel Hill NC for 25 years :)
