    Hello, Daniel,
    I'm researching the family of Floyd Ramos, most of whom seem to have lived and died in Nacogdoches, Texas. Floyd Ramos, b 1893 in Nacogdoches - d 1966 in Lufkin, Angelina Co., Texas. My research has taken him only back to his grandfather, Joseph Ramos, b Texas (?).

    Floyd's wife, Elena F. Montes, b 1902 in (?) and d 1997 in Lufkin, Angelina Co., Texas and her ancestry is documented on Ancestry.com but seems to have 2 different sources. One coming from New Mexico and one from San Antonio, Texas I can't figure out which family tree is correct!

    I realize this is a long shot, but thought I'd see if you had any information on Ramos and Montes (Montes de Oca) families in Texas.

    Thanks so much, Daniel. Do keep me in mind. Just wanted to tell you this. I have a Jose Maria Chaves (male) born 1756 in St. Michaels, Azores, Portugal - died May 1829 in Belan, Valencia, NM and married 2 Feb. 1773 to Maria Manuela Romero, born 1761 in NM. They are ancestors of the same Elena F. Montes married to Floyd Ramos that I mentioned in my first note. There again, I can not verify their relationship, but if you run across these names in your research, I'd appreciate your getting back to me. Thanks again.
