    Hello,

My husband is a Cosselmon, and I have started researching the line. I have the first three generations still living:

    Jacob Robert Cosselmon b. Michigan

David Richard Cosselmon b. Washington, married Barbara Ann Haase

Robert Lee Cosselmon b. Michigan, married Beth Ann Edmondson

Charles Guilford Cosselmon b. 1915 Michigan d. Michigan, married Alice Medendorp

Charles Lester Cosselmon b. Michigan d. Michigan

Andrew J Cosselmon b. New York d. Michigan, married Juliette Eggleston

Sylvanus Cosselmon b. 1812 New York, d. Michigan, married Sophia Stoutenger

I have recently been on genealogywise.com, and there are 342 postings from various spellings and a few people have outlined their families.  The earliest I have seen is Hans Dietrich Kasselmann from Adelshofen Germany, his son Andreas Ludwig was probably the immigrant to America, his son Johann Dietrich had moved with his father Andresa Ludwig to Virginia.  That is as far as I can go.  There is a link between our Sylvanus and the listed Johann Dietrich, but too many generations to pinpoint the information.

A great many Casselmans moved to Ontario, Canada ---they were Loyalists to the British Government during the earlier wars, they also lost all their property to the United States by leaving and declaring their citizenship in Canada.  There are too many to name here. They were called U.E.I.

Hope to hear from you soon, and the line your Cosselmon family trace back to.

    Cheers,

    Beth Ann Edmondson-Cosselmon
