Cook, I know the Cook blood line was Dutch.
The Cook name from TN, 1800's is as far back as I have been able to go on the Cook name, The Starr name, From 1450 back the Starr name was spelled Steere, The town recorder would spell the name as they heard it and the person giving the information may not have known how to spell or write so they would not have known if it was being spelled right or not and also they were from England. Also I know that a person was named by the kind of work they did, (BAKER: was a person who made bread or cakes and did a lot of baking... SMITH: Would have been a blacksmith... and so on & so on)
