I was fortunate in searching for my Revolutionary War ancestors, in that there were records available. There were people living in Virginia who did research for me. I also connected with distant cousins who had done extensive research and shared that with me. Check tax records for the county and city where your ancestors lived. The DAR has records on most of those who served in the Revolutionary War in their library, check with them. You may also want to pay someone to do the research for you, but you should have some basic information (names, dates, residents etc.).

    Happy Hunting!

Hi Karen and a Merry Christmas to you!

In reviewing an email from Genealogy Wise I noticed that I had reached out to you November 2010. Wanted to remind you that my dad was born in Sydney, NS in 1916 and emigrated with his mom and other siblings ~1924 to Buffalo, NY for greater job potential.

My dad's father was James Ronald McDonald, b: 1865 and his grandfather was Donald J McDonald,: 1829. If you have any knowledge of this family or connections with someone who may, I'd appreciate your reply to pgmac01@gmail.com. Sincerely,

     Paul Grant MacDonald
