Don't worry about what they were talking about on that discussion you commented on. It was a tempest in a teapot and not worth watching the water boil.
Welcome back to doing research! A lot has changed over the years, which is a good thing as there's a lot more available for us at our fingertips.
If you came into the chat tonight and was confused, on Wednesday and Saturday nights (around 6 on the west coast and 9 east coast) Rita has a trivia quiz. It's really quiet tonight. Everyone is rushing around doing things for the holidays. I know that JD Fuller is interested in talking to you about a name he has on his tree.
Hope to see you around and if you come by, just say "hi" to us and things will go on from there. Hopefully we'll be able to help you with your research.
Hi Aline - I saw your comment about not talking genealogy. Most of us have known each other for a while, so we may get off subject, but if someone such as yourself wants to ask for help or opinions please just speak up. For me, I haven't been around much, exploring a new (to me) website. But I see you are from Louisiana. Do you have any ancestors or relatives who fought at Gettysburg? I work across the street from where the "Tigers" fought.
What would you like to know? I haven't seen a direct connection between my Hache, Hache-Gallant lines yet but many were born or lived in Beaubassin, l'Acadie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaubassin This was a major missionary town for the MicMac.
