Yeh, it is hard. We have been taking care of her for 20 years now and it gets harder and harder. She has 3 other sons that have never really taken care of her and I used to have a SIL that helped and she died about 5 years ago. But, now it is getting to the point to where she cannot do things on her own, so, her next to oldest son is now retired and trying to help (thank God). He and my husband are trying to put her in an apartment halfway between us and him and where she has people she can be with. One minute she wants to do it, the next minute she don't. He has fixed his extra bedroom up for her and she doesn't want to go over there. She just wants to come to our house. My poor husband, who is horribly sick with Psoriatic Arthritis, has to put up with her. She watches him and the minute he walks out to go to his shop and have some time, he see's her walking down there. We are trying to be patient, but, it is hard.

Funny, Denise.  Ha! We could be related and probably are, way, way, way back when. My family emigrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania in the 1850's.  John J. Coughlin and Bridget Keenahan came over a few years apart, met, married, and the rest is history.  The name John J. Coughlin is repetetive a few times in each generation. They settled in Girardville, PA (Schuylkill County), and by the 1900's several were migrating to Philadelphia, PA.  It seems your Coughlin's are of Canada, New York, and MA.  It was nice hearing from you.  Let me know if we cross in our lineage anywhere, and I will do the same.  Take care.  Denise
