Hi Diana!
You are in luck! There is 1 CRIPE listed in the Pioneers book (mind you that these are only the people proven by a descendant and not necessarily all of the people who may qualify as "pioneers"). CRIPE, Daniel: birthplace PA, birthdate 1772, IN County settled ELKHART, Date Settled 1829, Previous Residence Ohio.
There is also a footnote for him: Organized first Dunkard church in region.
To be considered a Pioneer for Elkhart county, they had to be in residence by 1840.
I see that you are also researching Bowmans, I have some Bowmans in my husband's family tree who lived in IN (Jackson county), but came from Jessamine County Kentucky.
Diana, please get in touch with me regarding your Indian ancestry - I may have something on your family. P.S. there is no such thing as an "Indian Princess" Jim jimmypnl@gmail.com
