My Gotcher line is my fraternal grandmother's. I have vital records through her father James Thomas Gotcher (b. Texas 1876 - d. 1971). There are documented family stories (and a few weak vital records) about his father James Monroe Gotcher (b. Missouri 1840 - d.?) and wife Amelia (Annie) Sharp (b. 1848 - d.?). After that, James Monroe's father could be Joshua Broyles Gotcher (1803-1880), whose father was William Alfred Gotcher (1772-1820), but I've not done the research to prove it.

Sorry for the late response, I haven't been on this site in quite some time. My Maxwell line can only be traced back to the 1830's with the birth of my 2nd great Grandfather John R. Maxwell. He was born, raised, and died in Pa. No known siblings and only child born was my Great Grandfather who was also born and raised and died in Pa. No othe Maxwell known to have left Pa.

    Thank You,
    Michael Sheaffer
