Helton is one of my direct lines. The family info I have is that my ggg grandfather, John/James Helton & son Peter "Jake" Helton were born in TN. Peter was b. abt 1822. The family settled in Tishomingo Co., MS. in late 1830's.

Much like other families, over the years people gravitated to other areas of the country. However, a number of descendants of Peter "Jake" Helton, remained in Tishomingo Co.

While researching my Helton line in Tishomingo Co., I encountered another Helton line. Daniel Irvin Helton b. 12 Feb 1836 in GA. d. 31 Jul 1909 MS.

Daniel Irvin Helton married Sara Jane Spradlin b. 15 Jul 1842 GA d. 04 May 1920 MS? I was unable to find a listing for Sarah Jane Helton in the Tishomingo County Mississippi Cemeteries.

A number of my Helton cousins have researched our Heltons for many years. They have not found a connection to the Heltons from GA.

Re: Joseph and Comfort Graham What is your source for the Joseph Graham info? By family lore, he was born in Scotland. My last known info on Comfort is from the 1880 census living in Pineville Monroe Co Al with daughter Hannah Graham Kile (also Kyle)
