Hello - That was an interesting search. There is someone else working on those people. I found a couple places where people made corrections to Ancestry's information. When I get a chance I will see what else is there.
Other places you might look on Genealogywise is the Groups. If you go to Groups and then search for topics that fit your families like Pennjsylvania if they were in that state. Or Germany or whatever you think applies. You might even find a William Group.
As for Ancestry, I don't know if it will help or not. You want to try a trial membership and see how you like it. Glad this helps some.
Hello - I did some research for you yesterday on www.ancestry.com I found Herman and his wife Amelia and children Frederick, Arthur M. and Margurite on the 1900 census. It shows Herman was born in March 1846 and Amelia in October 1848.Marguarite was born in April 1876, Frederick in January 1879 and Arthur in 1881 (couldn't make out the month from my print out). They were living in Berkley, Alameda County, California. In 1920, the census shows Herman and Amelia with daughter Marguarite who was not married. It shows that Herman immigrated to the US in 1867 and Amelia in 1873. Marguarite was working as a Relief Worker with the Near East Relief. I did not find anything more on Herman, Amelia or Marguarite. Arthur M. appears on the 1910 census with his wife Anita. She was 25 years old. They also had a son Leland born 1909 and was 10 months old in April 1910. Also in the household was a Gladys Lewis age 21 who was Arthur's sister-in-law. Arthur was working as a real estate agent. In 1920 Arthur and family were in Taft, Kern County where he was working for the water company. They also had another son , Lewis age 8. By 1930 Arthur was Assistant Manager of the water company. Lewis was living in Los Angeles. That is all I saw on the census.
I checked the California Death Index 1940-1997 and found only an Anita Cooley who was born 31 August 1882 and died 1 May 1953. Her mother's maiden name was Cutts.
Sorry for the confusion. Golden Gates Genealogy was a series of chatrooms on America On Line (AOL) We had different chats covering different subjects. These were mostly hosted chats. Several years ago AOL did away with the hosting program and we all went separate ways. Everyone used a screen name so in most cases no one knew the other chatters real names. We had a couple people from Denmark who attended these chats. I thought you might be one of them. It had nothing to do with the bridge.
