This photo is of my great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Szilagyi Bertalan and on the far left is my great-grandfather (Emery Bertalan).  The man next to him I now believe to be his brother Louis Bertalan.  The very tall young man in the rear and the girl in front of him are probably his (Louis') children.  The young boy in the front and the two younger girls are my great-grandfather's children from his second marriage...my grandfather's half-siblings.…

On the back of this photo it says "The church where Lajos and others are."   We aren't sure who Lajos or the others are and we don't know where this is located either.

Both of my parents lived somewhat east of Pittsburgh. My mother's g-grandfather was John Henry Uhlenberg, who was born in 1822 in Hanover, and sailed from Bremen, arriving in Baltimore on 25 May 1840. He indicated his place of origin was Venne, Germany, but he was the only person of that name on that voyage, so I'm not sure that I would find any information about him in Udo Thoerner's Venne book.  Mr. Euhlenberg had at least one daughter, Mary Eva, who was born in Wexford PA in 1847.  One of…

My grandfather was Samuel Whitlock. He was born in Jackson Co, Missouri in 1878 to Robert and Laura A. Whitlock. He married Lena Marie Frost around 1907. They had 3 children that I am positive of. Sylvester Whitlock born 1908. Carmen Alvesta Whitlock born 1909, and Harold Leonard Whitlock born in 1913. There may have been one other child named Anna Mae. Samuel (my grandfather) was killed in the Athletic mine near Duenweg Missouri in 1917. Grandmother died in June of 1917. All of the children…

  My father was Ray Dee Jones born in Iowa died in Santa Rosa, CA. His  mother was Victoria Mae Foulk born in Iowa and died in Cheyenne, Wyo.

  Her father was Harvey Edward Foulk b 1867 in Illinios and died ??? no one knows.  He may have run away, he may have been murdered. Many stories and I have yet to find proof of any of it.
