Genealogy at Christmas Time
Genealogy at Christmas Time, "but I am way to busy", is a statement that I frequently hear.
I can not think of a holiday that is more appropriate to discuss and share Genealogy than this Holiday Season.
It is like let me count the ways.
1. You are already exchanging friendly greetings to family and friends.
2. Did it ever occur to you that the family friend may be kin?
3. People…

Christmas is Almost Here
I have been doing the Advent of Christmas on one of my blogs. I will print it out Christmas Eve and put in folders for the various adult members of our family.
I think it was a great thing to do so I could share data about Christmas's past. It seems we seldom set around and talk about what we did last year or the year before or ten years ago. So the younger generation is not getting the information passed down to them to carry…

I originally decided to start searching my families genealogy when there was a scare that my mother was very ill and was told my mother had 6-8 more weeks to live. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Artery Disease. With lots of prayers she is still with us today.
I was very courteous about my family origin. All my grandparents had all past away before I was born and because of family drama not much was said about them. My mother talked about how different her parents were…

These darling bunnies were born in October while I was at our sons. The Mom has a black with gold flecked coat and so do some of the younger ones.
I raised white and black bunnies but do not recall ever any red ones or orangebrown coated bunnies.
I bet they are double in size almost now. Bunnies grow quickly and they are called Kits.
My…

I am researching my great grandad. I know he was from Cork, Ireland & that he moved to Brighton Sussex & married Sarah Ann Patching in 1880. I have their marriage cert, his father was of the same name, deceased at that time. I have all the census from that time forward but, know nothing of his life in Ireland or how he travelled here. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. I have tried Roots Ireland,Ancestry,Genes Reunited & others but, without success. Thanks Anne

Hi, Just learned about this site last night and thought I would atleast give it a try. I have been doing family research for a very long time. Of course I have hit alot of brick walls along the way and I'm trying to chip away at them. So that is another reason why I am here, to try and find help or to try and give help. Right now I'm working on the following names, Dawson, Bible, French, Myrick, Edging, Shaver and Claxton. I have so many names in the family tree, but right now these are my…

Sorting Saturday
Actually I started sorting yesterday so items could be sent to others. I did not have those items until I went through the boxes I acquired from my Mom's estate.
I find some of the items have been presorted and will be sent on to others. I thought my brother and sister and I had presorted them all before I brought them home. I guess not. I know I left envelopes of pictures for nieces and nephews and brothers and sons before I left northern…
