Hi, my name is Bernie Foster-McCall and my husband's grandfather is a Lucas.
His name was Thomas Arnold Lucas, b. 1912 Elgin, NE d. 2007 Neligh, NE
His father was Alfred Joseph Lucas b. 1879 Winchmer Hill, London England, his wife was Nora Maria Wilcox b.1880 Arlington, IA d. 1967 Tilden, NE
I do have a little more but not much. We also have a Lucas reunion near Clearwater NE every other year.
Hey, my name is Katie Lucas. My Lucas's came from Harry Lucas b. 1870 d. 1954, son of Milton Lucas b.1837 Ohio, d. 1909 Illinois, married to Samantha Greenfield, and son of Samuel Lucas b. 1801 Pa, d. 1884 Illinois, married to Charity Jarnigan.
I do have more information if anybody is interested. They came to America around 1700 from England.
My great grandfather was James W. Lucas born 1841 in Virginia and died in 1927 in Henderson.Kentucky. His father was Vines G. Lucas (1800-1809). This is my least researched line in the US. He supposedly fought on both sids of the Civil war and rode a white stallion that jumped fences when James was 90 years old. He was baptized at age 89 and cussed the preacher for holding him under the water too long. He had long white hair down to his waist and was supposedly 1/4 Indian. .Any one share these legends?
My grandmother on my fathers side was the daughter of Orrington "Red" Lucas, he was a US Deputy Marshall in the Oklahoma Territory starting around 1882. His name easily comes up when goggled under "Lucas Oklahoma Marshall history". He was born in Ohio in 1858, son of Ebenizer Lucas and Margaret Scroggy. I do not know the history of Ebenizer Lucas. If you have any information on him or his family's past I would appreciate it.
