Hi again all.
I am still looking for Robert Seward (or Shuard), born in Kent (not confirmed) in 1813.
He arrived in South australia in 1838 (not confirmed) aboard the Siren.
We have complete family history from 1838 onwards but have only family stories on the birth place in Kent. We can find no record of birth or christening.
Hi Bob May,
Thank you for your interest.
Unfortunately, " Early SA certificates don’t have a lot of information and it wasn’t until about 1910 that they started to include where a person had been born. And that was only what the person supplying the information knew. Sometimes the certificates after 1910, said unknown or the name of the country such as England instead of any useful information."
Regards,
Ross Stacey

There was a message received from Bernard Ernest Albert DARE re marriage of William James Dare but I can't see where it was posted.
William Dare married Margaret Anne Fitzsimmons at Dungog, NSW in 1871. See NSW BDM 2131/1871
The following children were born at Dungog, NSW with parents of William and Margaret
Brenda Jane Dare b 1874 (10327/1874)
William James Dare b 1875 (10656/1875)
Henry Alexander Dare b 1876 (11050/1876)
Albert Dare b 1878 (12170/1878)
The following were also born to William and Margaret but at other locations:
Arthur Stanley Dare b 1880 at Barrington (18023/1880)
Margaret Janet E Dare b 1882 at Copeland (16546/1882)
Elsie B Dare b 1883 at Copeland (18058/1883)
Aubrey C Dare b 1885 at Copeland (20253/1885)
Margaret M Dare b 1889 at Copeland (21190/1889)
Herbert L Dare b 1892 at Stroud (33932/1892)
Thanks Peter but the question was how did he get to Australia. I have all my family history from 1605 to the present except how and when William came to Australia Thanks anyway Bernie Dare
I am passing on the following information of interest:
Did you migrate from New Zealand to Australia in the period from the late
1960s to early 1990s? I am researching an oral history PhD at Canterbury
University on this topic and need volunteers who are willing to share their
migration stories. I would like to look at the experiences both of Kiwis who
stayed in Australia and also of those who returned to New Zealand.
Please email Rosemary Baird at kiwisinaustralia@gmail.com if you would be
able to help.

Do you have Irish ancestors? Although it has been posted on many blogs you may have missed it - Free access to the 1911 Irish Census for all thirty-two counties is now available on this site: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
I found a whole branch of my grandmother's family there this morning and it cost not a cent!
My research is based in the UK and Australia and I wondered if it is suitable for that. Being an American program I wondered if it was more geared for there
Does anyone know if passenger list departures from England to Australia are available online? I have found an arrival list in Victoria with an expected person missing and it would be nice to find a departure list to match it with.

Hi liz
That Ancestors on board is hosted by "find my past" but the one I use as posted for John has just about all the shippings to n from Aust just click anything that appeals to your or not and you will find heaps as I did , the link to VIC is very good as it has passengers in and out of Vic and Ken Blairs list is very good I also have to say that I found a few that are blank, probably with drawn.
This also has arrival n departures:
http://www.blaxland.com/ozships/page.htm
and of course this one as mentioned
http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/passengerlists/index.htm

Hi everyone and thanks for the invite to join. I have been plodding away researching both my own and my husband's family history for some years but have never joined a group of any sort. Names that I am researching are Boxsell variants (Aus & UK) O'Keeffe, Ferguson,(Aus & UK) Gregier or Gregierczyk (Aus & Poland) I'm happy to share any info on the above names and hope to gaining some useful advice / tips from those more experienced.
Hi everyone and thank you for the invite. I have been researching for about 20 years, My main Interests are in Victoria and NSW, I descend from NSW Convicts on my fathers side, but your all lucky that I take after my Mums side and I am no threat to any ones shoes or Linen lol, I have a fair few resources and would be happy to help with any look ups if I can, Cheers Ellie
Hi everyone,
I'm new here. Most of my interests are in Victoria, but I also have family history connections to NSW, Qld, SA and WA. Origins in 1800s Ireland, England and Wales.
Thanks :-)
I joined your group because I know that somewhere in Australia I have relatives named Kelsall and because a distant cousin named Jane Dale emigrated to Australia in the late 1800's- early 1900's. I know that she married James Holmes and that she had a Gt Granddaughter named Janice Peake, whom I have tried to contact through GenForum but I have had no success. Jane was the daughter of Alfred Dale born in 1844 in Audley Staffordshire and Mary J Robinson born in 1855 in Chester Cheshire.
Another relative Lewis Kelsall emigrated to Endunda and was an ordained minister. He was born on 17th August 1917 and married Gladys Grace Cole in 1938 at Chapel Street Methodist Church, Shafton, Barnsley Yorkshire
I am very interested in family history and wish that when I was younger I had asked more questions of older relatives. I live in Staffordshire Moorlands and have got back to 1722 in my tree on the Dale side. I would be grateful if anyone could help.
Thanks for allowing me to join the group. Most of my family research ( Ward and Everett ) has been based in Victoria and England so far. Hopefully I can be of use as well as utlize the resources here.
Looking for information on the family of William Kelsall born on 13.10,1918 in Wollongong NSW. He married Gertrude Janet Esther Keegan in 1947 at Wollongong.
Hi all. Seeking info about my ANDERSON relatives who are descendant of Albert Victor Anderson and Martha Mary Anderson nee Murphy. Searching for relatives of Edith Mary Anderson (now Dudley), Janet May Anderson, Lorna Peggy Anderson who were all born in Footscray and lived at 66 Bryant Street. My Nan, Iris Doreen Anderson was their sister. I realise none of the above may longer be living but I know they would have had children.
Hi Tania
here is a site for you to book mark and look at but there are quite a few others on here that i am sure can help you plenty in regards to look-ups in Victoria
