    Lemmon/ Repine
Searching for parents of Samuel Lem(m)on born ca 1812/13 in Virginia. In 1850 he was living in Bedford Co., PA with his wife Rebecca Repine (born circa 1814--possibly in New Jersey). They were probably married around 1832/33. Their children were: Samuel (born circa 1833), James (born circa 1837), Sarah (born circa 1840), Catherine (born circa 1841), William (born 1842), Henry (born 1845), and Harrison (born circa 1847). William and Henry came to Indiana after the Civil War. Father Samuel is buried there as well. Harrison went to Fulton Co. Ohio. I think the family split up as the death certificate shows Harrison’s parents as “unknown”. I have information on William, Henry, and Harrison, but cannot find the other children after 1850. All the children were born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. The names are spelled at various times as Lemmon and Lemon. Any insight on this family's heritage would be appreciated.

    Lemon, Latta
I'm researching the Irish ancestry of Catherine Lemon (b. Londonderry) who married John Latta (b. Strabane) at Dunamunagh c.1840. They then emigrated to Australia in 1841 aboard the 'Intrinsic' out of Liverpool as free settlers. Any information about Catherine and John would be gratefully received

Hi, I am researching my surname from the Barnstaple/Bideford areas of North Devon, also in South Wales & Australia. I have taken the line back to 1646 but records from my area seem to be rather sparse during the civil war.

I am searching for Lemon family living in Gloucester, Virginia since the 1700. I know very little about where they came from before that.

    Hello

I am researching Barbara Lemons, born 1798, Kentucky.  She married Simeon B. Lewis, born 1799, Culpeper County, Virginia, and they are in the 1820 Federal Census of Hart County, Kentucky, USA.  In 1830, they were in Orange County, Indiana. In 1849, they were in Lonedell, Franklin County, Missouri. In 1870, they were in Spring Creek Twp, Phelps County, Missouri.  She was not in the 1880 census with Simeon.  I have several children listed and researched.

Barbara's father is probably Abraham Lemons, born about 1760; died 1836, of Hart County, Kentucky.  The records in Hart County, Kentucky were destroyed.  I am sure Sabert Amelia Lemons, born 1800, Kentucky, who married John Hoff was Abraham's daughter because she resided in Franklin County, Missouri near Barbara Lemons Lewis.  Abraham Lemons, Jr, born 1802, was Abraham's son.  Martha Patsy Lemons, born 1809 in Kentucky, was Abraham's daughter.  She married Mothershead, and Murrell, and lived in Jefferson and Franklin counties in Missouri.  I have several other people I believe to be Abraham's children, but I am less sure of them.

I am seeking information on Abraham Lemons and his parents.

Greetings All, I just found this website last night and am so happy I did. I am the admin of the Lemon DNA project at Family Tree DNA.

    https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/lemon/about

I encourage all men with the Lemon surname to get a YDNA test of 37markers or more. There are over 160 men who have tested with all the various spellings, there is a good chance you will get a match.

For women and non Lemon men related to Lemon families, I encourage you to get the autosomal dna test that are offered at Ancestry.com, 23&ME and FTDNA (Family Finder test at FTDNA). They all use the exact same test and cost the same $99.00 at each lab. Only FTDNA will transfer results from the other labs. So I ask people to test at one of the other labs first then transfer your results to FTDNA ($49.00) so you fish in multiple database ponds for matches.

For those of you not living in the USA, FTDNA does ship DHL international. I am looking for men in England with the Lemon, Lemen, Leman surnames (and all other spelling variations) to do the YDNA testing. I really want to start connecting US families to their cousins across the pond, including mine.
