This group is for anyone who has an interest in medieval English genealogy. This period is often overlooked by genealogists but rich resources are available.

Welcome everyone to our new Medieval English Group. Do introduce yourself and tell us which lines you are researching. I am doing a one-name study on the CRUWYS family who can be traced back to the 1200s in Cruwys Morchard in Devon. You can read about my one-name study here. My Cruwys family intermarried with many of the other Devon gentry families such as the AYSFORDS of Burlescombe and the KEYNES of Winkleigh. I also have links with the WHITINGS of Kentisbeare and the PAUNCEFOOTS of Compton Pauncefoot amongst others.

Debbie -- I am particularly interested in learning about new publications of records as they become available covering the Medieval period. I would consider additions to other websites like British History On-Line as a part of this. Should I come across such resources I will also be happy to share this as I learn of them, as well.
